I never imagined that our team can have a sold out game but it happened today!! I am surprised and more importantly, I deeply believe I make the right decision to change my career to sports business.
Yesterday, July 3rd, we interns still made many phone calls to our fans about today's game, Crab Feast on July 6th and All-Star game on July 10th. As usual, not so many positive response.
We started our work this afternoon. Originally I was assigned to be the usher in the first base gate to help our fans enter and leave the stadium. However, 4:30 pm. Sean changed my job to work in the box office because there are so many fans coming to tonight game, which started on 6:30 pm.
It is exciting to be the ticket officer at box office and using our ticket system to sell many tickets. I started selling tickets to our fans until 7:30 pm, when Sean told everyone by the woki toki : "We have a sold out game!!". In these three hours, I kept taking cash, swiping credit card, and giving tickets to our fans. I am proud of being a member of Blue Crabs and I enjoy serving our fans and having them a great smile.
Near the end of the game, two fans came to me and complained about tonight's game starting time because they did not informed about the change of time. I listened carefully and led them to our sales manager, Sarah. Finally, I am happy they got positive response from our team and left our stadium with a great smile. According to my past experience, clients are always right. The only thing I need to do is listening and giving them an appropriate response. I am happy to solve the problem for my team.
After the game, there was a heavy traffic around our stadium because of over seven thousand people in our stadium. It means I cannot leave stadium after my work immediately and keep staying at the stadium to help. Although I came back to home at 12:30 am, I am excited about this great night and look forward to our next Wednesday's All-Star game!
